PHILIP L. KAUFMAN, C.P.A., a partner, is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. During college, Phil worked for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (a branch of the U.S. Defense Department), where he participated in audits of major government contracts. Following graduation, he joined the international accounting firm of Haskins & Sells (presently Deloitte & Touche) where he supervised and participated in certified audits, S.E.C. filings and tax work. After four years of dealing with large publicly-traded clients, Phil joined a local accounting firm where he supervised and participated in certified and non-certified engagements, management consulting services and tax work. While at that firm, he met and worked with Steve Rosenberg. Two years later, he left the local firm and opened his Certified Public Accounting practice. In 1977, Phil merged his accounting practice with Steve Rosenberg's to form Kaufman & Rosenberg.

Phil is a member of the American Institute of C.P.A.'s and their Management Consulting Services and Information Technology Sections, the California Society of C.P.A.'s, Beta Alpha Psi (a national honorary accounting society). Additionally, he is past treasurer of the Hope for Life Chapter of the City of Hope. Phil is involved with all aspects of the firm with particular emphasis on certified audits, computer consulting, and tax return preparation and planning for individuals, corporations, estates, partnerships, trusts and retirement plans.


STEPHEN A. ROSENBERG, C.P.A., a partner, is a graduate of California State University Northridge, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. During college, Steve worked for a public accounting firm. Following graduation, he joined a local C.P.A. firm where he specialized in certified audits, personal and corporate tax planning and income tax return preparation. While at that firm, he met and worked with Phil Kaufman. Two years later, he left the local firm and opened his Certified Public Accounting practice. In 1977, Steve merged his accounting practice with Phil Kaufman's to form Kaufman & Rosenberg.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of C.P.A.'s and the California Society of C.P.A.'s. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker. Steve is involved with all aspects of the firm with particular emphasis on real estate taxation, accounting, and tax return preparation and planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships and retirement plans. He is also responsible for the firm's work scheduling and various administrative functions.


LEWIS L. COHEN, C.P.A., a partner, is a graduate of California State University Northridge, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1979. During college, Lewis worked for Marder & Company, a public accounting firm located in Santa Monica, California. In 1984, he joined Kaufman & Rosenberg, C.P.A.'s as a senior level accountant. After five years, he left to form his own firm where he specialized in certified audits, personal and corporate tax planning and income tax return preparation. Eight years later, Lewis merged his accounting practice with Kaufman & Rosenberg to form Kaufman, Rosenberg & Cohen.

Lewis is a member of the American Institute of C.P.A.'s and the California Society of C.P.A.'s. Lewis is involved with all aspects of the firm with particular emphasis on real estate taxation, accounting, and tax return preparation and planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships and retirement plans.


IRENE F. CARMODY, C.P.A., graduated from California State University Northridge in 1989 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Prior to joining Kaufman, Rosenberg & Cohen, she was the controller of a leasing company for many years. Irene joined the firm in January 1990 and she is involved in client accounting services, client financial statement preparation and the preparation of corporation, fiduciary, individual, non-profit organization, partnership and retirement plan tax returns.


JACKIE BORUNDA, C.P.A., graduated from California State University Northridge in 1994 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Jackie joined the firm in May 1995. She is involved in client accounting services, certified audits, client financial statement preparation and the preparation of corporation, estate, individual, limited liability companies, partnerships, payroll, retirement plans and trust tax returns, as well as working with most of the firm's computer applications.


BERNADETTE NARTATEZ graduated from California State University Los Angeles in 2000 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Bernadette joined the firm in August 2000 and she is involved in client accounting services, client financial statement preparation and the preparation of corporation, limited liability companies, partnership and individual tax returns, as well as working with most of the firm's computer applications including spreadsheets and securities reports.


LICIA OWOLO joined the firm in May 2003. Her many duties include bookkeeping, business management, collections, data input, payroll, 1099 forms and the processing of financial statements as well as working with most of the firm's computer applications.


SHELLEY TOMASELLO joined the firm in August 2004. She is the firm's Network Administrator and brings over 20 years of experience to the firm. She is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) with a CompTIA Security+ certification. Her responsibilities include the daily upkeep and maintenance of the firm's computer network and the installation and upgrading of all computer hardware and software. In addition, Shelley assists with data input and tax return preparation and processing.


TINA MCNEESE joined the firm in July 2004. She has completed two years of college at Grossmont Community College in San Diego, and will be completing her four year degree in the Los Angeles area. Her many duties include front desk reception, various organizational responsibilities, data input and banking.
